Over Fourth of July Alec and I went to Canada for the very first time. We planned on staying in Banff the whole time but decided to do one night in Calgary first and let me tell you Calgary is awesome! We stayed at Hotel Arts which, as you may guess, is a pretty artsy place. It’s a fun hotel and they let you borrow bikes. So we rode bikes all over town and into Princes Island Park where we watched a bit of Shakespeare in the park and ate frozen yogurt that somehow had flavoring outlining the yogurt. I can’t even really explain it but there’s a pic below. It was really good. As we were about to start heading back to the hotel we came across a giant mob of bikers dressed in fancy clothes heading to Bike Prom so we decided to tag along and rode the entire seven or so miles to the prom where we danced with new friends and drank a few Canadian beers. Calgary is a very warm and inviting city. After our wonderfully magical day in Calgary we went to Banff for a few days, but that will be a separate post because I have oh so many photos to go through and narrow down so I don’t bombard you with a hundred photos of the same lake. I always have the hardest time narrowing down my photos because I don’t want to leave anything out. I love looking back on my posts and remembering the trips we’ve taken but I don’t like to see a million pictures of the same thing so my problem becomes which of the hundred photos of the lake do I choose? And I’ll sit there staring at all of them wondering which one of the slightly different ones to keep and which to delete. I’m getting better at it though.
