Swan Princess

It’s Friday morning and that means we are so much closer to the Game of Thrones season finale. I am so excited and also really sad. I have never enjoyed a series as much as this one. I’m really nervous too because I have no idea what’s going to happen. With the previous seasons I had a general idea because I’d read the books. I bet in the finale we find out Jon’s parentage! My guess, along with everyone else, is that he’s a Targaryen.

This weekend is Alec’s 30th birthday weekend. He turns 30 on Monday but we are heading down to Borrego Springs with a few friends tomorrow and I’m going to spend the next two days in the pool trying to cool off from this awful heat.

About this look-

The dress

Pastels! I love pastel colors so much. I just got this dress from Dezzal on Tuesday and I was trying to save it for my birthday in August but I love it so much I just have to share it now. Have any of you seen The Swan Princess? It’s an animated film from the early 90’s and man does this dress remind me of that movie. My sister and I used to watch it on repeat when we were kids. Putting this dress on makes me feel like I’m back home with my sister building forts, playing dress up and pretending to be Odette from the Swan Princess. Back then I was certain my first baby girl would be named Odette.  Another absolute favorite film from back then was Little Nemo. Because of that movie I was certain my first baby boy would be named Nemo. I still wish I could name my first son Nemo but ever since Finding Nemo came out it’s made the name too popular. If I named him Nemo I’m sure he would get all kinds of endless Finding Nemo jokes, or maybe not? It hasn’t been taken off my list yet but it’s not a top choice. Not that I need to be thinking about baby names. While we’re on the subject of favorite childhood movies I just have to give a shout out to The Last Unicorn and My Little Pony. These four movies basically make up my entire childhood. I hope one day I have a little girl or boy I can share these films with.

The shoes

I got these shoes on Ebay a few years ago specifically for my bridal shower and every time I wear them I’m reminded of that wonderful day with such wonderful people to I got to share it with. All the guests wore pink and I wore lilac and we drank pink champagne, sipped tea, ate cake, and celebrated life. It was one of my favorite days. Eventually I’ll do a throwback post to it because it was such a perfect day.

The jewelry

You can’t really tell but I’m wearing a pearl necklace underneath the collar of my dress and I’m wearing pearl earrings. These were a wedding gift from my mother in law which I wore for the first time at our rehearsal dinner. They’ll always bring me back to that night and all of the emotions running through my head knowing that the following day I’d be marrying the man I love.

I hope you all have a great weekend.
